Tracking Remover: Clean URLs from Marketing Parameters
Shared URLs often contain trackers: utm_source, utm_medium, fbclid (Facebook), gclid (Google Ads), affiliate parameters, session IDs. These params reveal how you got to the page and are used to build tracking profiles.
Our remover detects and cleans over 60 known tracker types, preserving the essential functionality of the URL (path, real query params). Ideal for sharing clean links, respecting recipient privacy, and avoiding leaking your browsing history.
It's especially useful for journalists, activists, marketers auditing campaigns, and privacy-conscious users. Everything runs in the browser.
How does it work?
- Paste the URL with trackers
Insert the complete URL as you received or copied it.
- The tool cleans it automatically
Detects and removes UTM, fbclid, gclid, msclkid, mc_cid, and 60+ known parameters.
- Copy the clean URL
Get the URL without trackers, ready to share respecting privacy.
Frequently Asked Questions
Are UTM parameters dangerous?
Not dangerous per se, but they identify the traffic source and can be used to profile you if you share the same link on multiple platforms. To respect recipients' privacy, remove UTMs before sharing.
Does removing fbclid break the link?
No. Facebook Click ID (fbclid) is added for internal tracking, but doesn't affect content. The URL works identically without it — only Facebook loses the ability to track that specific click.
What parameters does the tool NOT remove?
We keep functional parameters: page IDs, real search queries (q=), filters (category=), pagination (page=), etc. Only known marketing/tracking trackers are removed. See the complete list in our documentation.
