Why is this tool safer than sending passwords via chat?

Chat applications (Slack, WhatsApp, Teams) store messages indefinitely in their databases. If an attacker gains access to your account in the future, they can read all past credentials. Our tool encrypts the note and deletes it completely after one read, making future recovery impossible.

What does Zero-Knowledge encryption mean?

It means that we, as server administrators, have zero knowledge of the data you transmit. Decryption is performed exclusively in the recipient's browser using the key inside the '#' fragment of the link, which browsers never transmit to servers during HTTP requests.

What happens if someone opens the link twice?

The first view fetches the secret and deletes it. The second view will query a non-existent token, returning a 404 error indicating the secret has already been destroyed.
